Q-Switch Laser x The Clifford Clinic Review

Hi guys! *waves*

Most of you will probably know by now, I've been with The Clifford Clinic, doing Q-Switch Laser with Dr Gerard Ee for a couple months now ridding my depressed and red acne scars agitated and derived from using the wrong products back in my younger days..

Every day before heading out, I HAVE TO pile on super high coverage concealer and base make up to hide the imperfections, some days when it's really, really extra angry, even a 'sibeh bochup' person like me would honestly actually feel.. Ugly even.

Especially on days when I get a fresh bout of acne outbreaks with the mixture of 3D x depressed scars. I tried many methods, from expensive creams, to all sort of DIY treatments. Nothing is exactly a long-term solution though. I'd get ecstatic for a while when it's under control. But eventually my acne are like cockroaches, they seem to 'develop immunity' to the 'cure'.

So I am very very very glad I took videos to document in between sessions through my entire journey, and when I go through them all, there really ARE the differences from Day 1, but most importantly, no massive backsliding of my condition, which truthfully is the most important. :)

First, let me introduce you to The Clifford Clinic!

Everyone dodging my camera, haha!

But first, what exactly is Q-Switch Laser Treatment?

Q-Switch Laser is used in various procedures: The laser is a beam of energy at specific wavelength which is applied to the skin and absorbed by colored pigments such as freckles, sun spots, age spots, etc. in the skin.

The power settings of the laser can be set at different levels and frequencies to accommodate your specific condition and expectations.

What is it used for?

- Pigmentation (such as freckles, sun spots, age spots, brown spots, melasma, birthmarks)
- Acne marks
- Fairer skin
- Skin rejuvenation
- Pimples and acne
- Tattoo removal

How does it work?

Pigmentation – the laser energy is absorbed by the pigments (usually brown, or grey in colour). These pigmentation break off into smaller fragments and are naturally cleared away by the body and skin.

Acne marks – acne marks are caused by inflammation (the redness and pain) from pimples. The inflammation causes the skin to produce pigments. These pigments are cause of acne marks, which can be effectively removed with the laser.

Fairer skin – the color of our skin is also determined by the amount of skin pigments. Darker skin people or people who go sun tanning often have more skin pigments. The laser, at the correct setting, helps lighten the skin tone and makes it fairer and brighter.

Skin rejuvenation – the laser uses its energy to remove dirt, dead skin cells, oil and superficial facial hair. Take this as a quick, effective and multi-purposed medical facial.

Pimples and acne – the laser energy can also kill P-acne, which is the bacteria that cause pimples and acne. At the same time, the laser energy also shrinks the oil glands in the skin and helps with oil control. Pimples and acne also tend to be less inflamed after laser treatments and this reduces the amount of acne marks after a breakout.

Tattoo removal – tattoo inks are foreign pigments introduced into the body. Like natural skin pigmentation, the laser energy breaks down the tattoo ink and removes the tattoo.

What can you expect?

Prevention and treating of pimples and acne.
Less outbreaks in future.
Better oil control.
Fairer and brighter skin.
Complete clearance of tattoos (depending on ink color)

So here are my super before photos:

What happened was that when I was.. 18 - 19(?) Back then I didn't have much problems with my skin truthfully. But I 'geh kiang' and bought a soap bar from this Facebook seller called Nabilah-something(?) who had HUNDREDS of 'good reviews' supposedly from very satisfied customers. Long story short.

My face exploded into a hellhole of acne outbreaks. Until I cut it off.

But still, damage was done, I had no idea how to deal with them and desperation drove me to squeezing them all for instant gratification and 'eradication'. Forming all my depressed, brown scarring and pits. I hated them. Here:

So here it goes! I do Q-Switch Laser religiously with Dr Gerard Ee fortnightly (the photos below are taken towards the back when my skin has improved tremendously):

Poor Dr Ee getting annoyed by me every 2 weeks.

Removing my residual make up properly.

And here we go!

No numbing cream is needed, and I'd rate the pain level like: 0.5/10?
I can seriously fall asleep if there's enough time.

And here is my ultimate journey of Q-Switch lasers since day 1!

Screenshots of process grabbed directly from the video to remain authentic (so quality is pretty low):

Fixing aesthetic issues like acne takes time, there is no magical wave of wand for a miraculous instant cure. But with Q-Switch Laser at Clifford Clinic, slowly but surely. Looking back, I surprise myself with the improvements. :)

Here are the most updated results post Q-Switch!

So what are my favorite advantages of Q-Switch?

One of what I maximumest (My new favorite made up word) LOVE about The Clifford Clinic is that it's smack right in the middle of CBD area, and soso convenient to head out right after to anywhere for dates or with friends. Which brings me to the next point.

The downtime is minimal. And by minimal I mean, I can walk out without foundation, to gatherings, drink, or pole-dance straightaway. (the last which I done countless times)

It is time-saving. It is a no-frills treatment. Each session for me is like 5 - 10 minutes and I am done! Basically Q-Switch minimized thermal damage on the skin and only destroys selective pigments, reduces large pores, fine lines, improves skin texture and tone altogether. So much goodness packed in 10 minutes. Love it!

Really eternally thankful for the maintenance to having beautiful skin done by The Clifford Clinic and team. Right now I'm trying their Zlipo Fats Freeze treatment and their chin fillers soon, can't wait to share on the results soon.

xx

Tired Eyes Correction X Kowayo Aesthetic Clinic

Dark Eye Circles Correction with Kowayo

Ever since I was a kid, I've had the darkest dark eye circles IMO growing up. And it doesn't help that I've pretty fair skin tone either. As if I am perpetually punched in the face.

I'd like to say it's hereditary, but I've no idea who the hell I inherited this disastrous heavy panda eyes from either! Both my parents seemed fine..

But whatever the case. It's safe to say I tried practically everything - Drugstore eye creams, over $100+ eye creams, tea bags, those cutesy gimmicky Korean panda eye rollers, cucumbers, sleeping early, extracting juices of raw potatoes. Seriously. Everything, personally I see minimal to zero changes.

Eventually I convinced myself, 'Aiya ching cai la, use concealer cover lor.' or, 'Not like I will look super buang. mtxx remove dark eye circles so easy now.'  *Cues evil laugh*

But I know, ultimately, it IS a problem I need to rectify. Concealer can never cover it entirely. Why short-change yourself right?

I decided to visit Kowayo Aesthetic Clinic for a consultation with Dr Wong.

It's so light and airy in the clinic :)

And here are before-procedure photos of how truly bad my dark circles are without mtxx & concealer~:

Horrifying right? Any first impression I make would be zoned into the fact it seemed like I haven't slept for 10 years. Basically what I've is like a combination of the common dark reddish / brownish pigmentation under eye x a sunken tear trough area which casts shadows to further enhance my circles. Something like.. This I grabbed off Google.

For the record, through the entire post thereafter, I did not use mtxx to surgically remove my circles NOR concealer either too!

Anyway, Dr Wong decided to use Ellansé for my tired eyes correction.

Why Ellansé?

Ellansé is different to other dermal fillers which are commercially available, Ellansé offers a unique combination of Total and Predictable Bio-resorbability for its entire range.

Ellansé offers a personalised treatment option with a sustained duration of 12 months (Ellansé-S) up to 4 years (Ellansé-E).

How it works?

Collagen is one of the important support structures found naturally in our skin, helping to maintain the appropriate tightness, elasticity and suppleness. Over the course of time, our skin gradually loses its natural collagen, leading to facial laxity and the formation of wrinkles and folds.

Ellansé works differently to traditional dermal fillers, which only address lines, wrinkles and folds. Thanks to its unique properties, it not only corrects wrinkles and folds but by stimulating your own collagen to really treat the underlying causes of facial ageing, the effects are gradual and longer-lasting giving you a natural youthful appearance.

Ellansé is a perfect choice for both women and men seeking...

Immediate visible results
Skin revitalisation & firmness through natural collagen stimulation
 Reshapes and contours
 Natural & Fresh look
Long-lasting effects avoiding multiple sessions to maintain the results

 Cost effective treatment

In essence, Dr Wong explained to me that he will be doing a base filler for me first, then layering the collagen-filled goodness over. And here goes my virgin fillers procedure!

Getting the numbing cream on.

Seated and awaiting!

I'm obviously feeling fine here :)

And here's a video of myself during the injection. I'd say my pain tolerance is quite high(?) I'd rate this pain level like: 2/10. The only uncomfortable sensation would be the initial prick in, then its all easy breezy, could chit chat and laugh throughout.

And here are the after photos.

Couldn't help but to immediately snap a photo after to send to everyone I know because I was completed amazed with the instant difference.

Here is Day 2 post-procedure in JB (no concealer was used!):

Day 4 post-procedure, after an entire day at work (still absolutely concealer-free):

But I had a bruise at my chin when Dr Wong used the residual filler of 0.2ml for it :)

Day 5 (It's a TR-selfie, so everything's much smoother):

Day 7, attending pole friend's wedding:

So why did I choose Ellansé for Tired Eyes Correction with Kowayo Clinic?

I am a typical Singaporean, I'm sowrie. Like all Singaporeans, I want affordable, safe. effective, AND immediate effect somehow all rolled into one.

Let me illustrate. Over the years, I've spent thousands trying gimmicky products that don't work. But from $1500/-, (Edited amount for more accuracy) I can have concealer-free eyes that actually look pleasant to (ironically) the eyes. Dr Wong also told me that this tear trough procedure can last 2 - 4 years. So much longer than the typical fillers of 6 - 12 months.

Ellansé for Tired Eyes Correction with Kowayo Clinic:
$1500 / 36 (Let's put it conservatively at 3 years)
= $42/month. (rounded up figure) (Edited

Typical Filler:
$599 (Actually I did a generic Googling, all are much pricier) / 12 (Assuming maximum term)
= $50/month. (rounded up figure)

$47/month is actually a pretty reasonable figure to make sure you look the best you can. I should have done this sooner. Absolutely no regrets!

Also, personally, this was mad satisfying for me to witness the instantaneous plumping of my tear trough area and miraculous absence of my dark eye circles within an hour. I no longer have to spend alot of time on color-correcting my under-eye and mtxx crazily away at those rings.

I really enjoyed my time at the clinic as well, I can see that there's a strong rapport between the team and the customers while I was there, Dr Wong and his team were very friendly and warm throughout my experience. I'd definitely like to explore correcting some of my other concerns like my chin and cheeks in future soon too!
